Michelle Ndoki, one of Professor Maurice Kamto’s lawyers who staged an anti- Biya protest in Douala has been summoned to appear before the Douala Court of First Instance on November 6, 2018.
Michelle Ndoki was asked to appear in court by the State Prosecutor in Douala, Littoral Region of Cameroon to answer for charges which include disregarding constituted authority, undermining state institutions, carrying out state demonstrations and holding illegal meetings.
Cameroon News Today -CNT reminds that, the lawyer and about 41 others were arrested in Douala on Saturday October 27 by forces of law and order during a peaceful protest to denounce what they described as “electoral hold up” to hand Paul Biya another term of office.
The protest came days after the Constitutional Council Proclaimed Paul Biya winner of the October 7 presidential election in the country.
Michelle Ndoki and others are expected in court on November 6, the day president Paul Biya is expected to be sworn in as president for a seventh term.
