The registration for cocoa quality selection has been launched for the 2017-2018 season in Cameroon and cocoa producers have between October 16 and November 16, 2018 to register.
Cameroonian cocoa producers are to register in the relevant departmental delegations of trade in the Ministry, in order to qualify for the cocoa quality premium for 2017 -2018 season.
From a statement bythe Minister of Trade Luc Magloire Atangana, applicants for this premium once selected will benefit from CFA 1 billion.
As such, they will add to the required elements, the presentation of a document attesting to the marketing of a grade 1 or good fermented cocoa.
It should be noted that, good fermented cocoa is a prerequisite in the international milieu and for cocoa buyers who seek the best for production.
Thanks to this strategy, “the volume of Cameroon cocoa grade 1 export increased from 1,099 to 8,933 tons between 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 marketing years causing an increased percentage of 71.3%”.
