Election campaigns have intensified in neighboring Nigeria ahead of the February 2019 election, with opposition candidates all striving to unseat incumbent Muhammadu Buhari as president.

As the election date draws near, presidential candidates in the country just like 19th century European countries in the scramble for Africa are all scrambling to get voters to their side before the D day.

Incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari who is seeking another four year term of office puts the fight against corruption at the heart of his bid, with a campaign which he terms “the Next Level”.

Apart from incumbent President Buhari, other opposition candidates have intensified campaigns in their aspiration to secure a win in the election and unseat the incumbent.

Voters in Nigeria will go to the polls on February 2019, four years after Mohammadu Buhari’s victory which made him become the first opposition candidate in Nigeria’s history to defeat an incumbent.
