Liverpool’s goal machine Mohamed Salah has picked up another title. The Egypt striker has been named The Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year.
Salah narrowly beat Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne who came second, a step ahead of Harry Kane of Tottenham.
Salah has 31 goals in 34 league matches for Liverpool this season.
He scored two sensational Champions League goals last week against his former club, Roma.
Mohamed Salah is the reigning holder of the African Best Player of the Year Award. He edged his teammate, Sadio Mane of Senegal, and Aubameyang of Gabon.
Some people have tipped the Egyptian growing star to winning the Ballon d’Or Award this year. This could become even more realistic if Egypt do well at the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia.
This will make Salah the second African to win the most prestigious individual title in Football after Liberian President George Weah.
