With full support from enthusiastic fans who cheered them up under a downpour, the indomitable lions of Cameroon have qualified for the African Cup of Nations scheduled to take place in Egypt, after sending Comoros back home with a 3-0 defeat.
Cameroon was in full control of the match with three goals without reply, scored by team captain Choupo Moting at the 37th minute, Christian Bassogog at the 53rd minute and Clinton Njie at the 88th minute.
The lions’ victory coincided with Choupo Moting’s birthday, that was crowned with his pacesetter goal. Before the game could come to an end, the excited fans had sung all sorts of “happy birthday” wishes for the PSG striker.
On the part of the Comorians, they would be unfortunate to go to the polls with the defeat the following day Sunday 24 March, to elect a new president for their country.
