The Italian and Swiss Tourists kidnapped by the secessionist group on Monday April 2, 2018 in Nguti, South West Region are now free since yesterday April 3.

It was in a course of a ceremony held in the Ministry of External Relations on April 3, 2018 that these foreign hostages were handed to their Ambassadors sound and safe.

The Minister of Communication and Government Spokesman, present at the ceremony saluted the synergy that exists between the population and the security forces which led to this great success. He also made known that many of the secessionists kidnappers were neutralized.

External Relations Minister, HE Lejeune Mbella Mbella termed the ceremony exceptional; “We are here for an exceptional ceremony”.

The bravery of the Cameroonian defense and security forces has been saluted by the twelve ex-hostages, Heads of Diplomatic Corps and the badge of Members of Government who were present to observe the handing over, notably Minister of External Relations Lejeune Mbella Mbella, Minister of Communication ISSA Tchiroma Bakary, Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization Paul Atanga Nji, Secretary of State at the Gendarmerie Galax Eve Landry Etoga and the Delegate General for National Security Martin Mbarga Nguele.

As Cameroon News Today learned, nothing was mention concerning negotiations that led to the release of these foreign hostages.
