Cameroonian artists have called for peace in a bid to put a halt to the unstable socio-political situation and other events plaguing the country.
The socio-political instability in the country has pushed Cameroon artists to mobilize for peace.
At the beginning of October, these artists produced a single in which they advocated for peace.
This single which is titled “We need peace” featured artists like Salatiel, ko-C, Blanche Bailey, Nabila, Mr Leo, Magasco, Mink-s, Daphne, and Pit Baccard.
Some Cameroonians have applauded these musicians for their interceptive role in the crisis the country is currently undergoing in her two English regions.
On the contrary, other nationals have rebuked these artists for haven remained silent for a long time since the advent of the instability.
It should be recalled that, the “Anglophone crisis” has paralyzed activities in the South and North West regions since 2016.
As such, the Cameroonian artists Magasco has been the only musician in this group, who has stayed focused and committed to the cause of championing peace.

However, some artists have backed their silence by advancing several reasons among which are their unwillingness, to partake in political issues.
Some confirmed that they do not speak out on political affairs, an assertion which was received with mixed feelings on social media.
Nonetheless, Cameroon News Today-CNT affirms that, the released single by these Cameroonian artists increased the sensitization on the call for calm especially during the post election period.
