Cameroons Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development on December 18 in Yaoundé urged youth in the country to be major actors in the agricultural revolution which is needed to turn Cameroon’s economy round.
Minister Henri Ayebe Ayissi made the call yesterday in Yaoundé, while chairing the fifth steering committee meeting of the program for the promotion of youth agro pastoral entrepreneurship.
The steering committee meeting provided an opportunity for the minister to once again reiterate government’s resolve to fight youth unemployment.
This is by getting young people between the ages of 18 and 35 to set up viable business ventures in the agriculture and livestock sectors.
The program for the promotion of youth agro pastoral entrepreneurship stands out tall as a measure instrument in the drive.
During the meeting, Minister Henri Ayebe Ayissi equally seized the opportunity to express the gratitude of the government of Cameroon to the International Fund for Agricultural Development for its financial and technical support.
He further hoped that such support will be sustained.
The fifth steering committee meeting saw the evaluation of a CFA 33 billion project as well as measure achievements for the year 2018.
