One of Africa’s biggest Cocoa processing Plant has been inaugurated in Kekem in West region of Cameroon by Prime Minister, Head of Government Joseph Dion Ngute
The 53 billion CFA Francs worth private investment for the transforms of cocoa beans into a variety of finished goods including chocolate, cocoa butter, cocoa powder amongst others.
The factory that is located in kekem in the Upper Nkam division of the West region, one of the cocoa producing hubs in the country.
It has a processing capacity close to 33 thousand tons of cocoa beans per year. Neo-Industry S.A for cocoa processing has created 700 direct jobs and about 2000 indirect jobs.
The giant project owned by a Cameroonian private investor, Emmanuel Neousi has been saluted by the Prime Minister – Head of Government.
The PM said the investment is in line with the materialisation of government’s policy to process 50% of cocoa beans produced in Cameroon.
He said that industry will contribute to the growth and expansion of the manufacturing sector as prescribed by the President of the Republic.
The Prime Minister promised government’s support to ensure the sustainability of the industry which contributes to attaining the emergence objectives of Cameroon.
Government provided some 1.5 billion CFA francs worth of support for the take off of the processing unit.
Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute encourages the production and consumption of the made in Cameroon.
The mayor of Kekem expressed deep appreciation for the project which has added to the beauty of the locality.
He says it is a dream come true which has made Cameroon become a net exporter of finished goods.
According to the promoter, Emmanuel Neousi, the Industry is a childhood dream come true.
He said her grew up in plantations and dreamt of contributing his own quarter to the “Made in Cameroon” label.
Emmanuel Neousi, brain behind the project was decorated with a medal of honour by the Prime Minister on behalf of the President of the Republic.
Neo-Industry S.A. is one to the first companies in the cocoa sector to use Ultra modern digital equipments. The entrepreneur to 46 years old Emmanuel Noessi, elite of Kekem took over three years to install processing plant.
