Cameroon’s Prime Minister Philemon has this December 3 inaugurated a Public Health Emergency Centre worth CFA2 billion, provided by the American Agency for Defence and Threat reduction.
The structure which is situated in the Messa neighborhood in Yaoundé was inaugurated today December 3 by the Prime Minister and Head of Government Philemon Yang, who sat in for the Head of State president Paul Biya.
The Centre will coordinate all kinds of risks for a rapid deployment of operational themes.
The US defence system through the Defence Threat Reduction Agency has provided Cameroon with the health emergency Centre to develop essential capacities for early detection and effective response to public health emergencies.
This is not the first time Cameroon is benefiting from US assistance as through the multi-faceted technical and financial assistance provided by the United States government, the country has benefited from other projects such as HIV Aids, Malaria and the renovation of the National Health Laboratory by the Centre of Diseases Control.
