Cameroon football teams taking part in the ongoing Caf Confederations Cup championship are set to do better in future games, following a dismal performance over the weekend.
The tournament over the weekend saw Cotonsport of Garoua losing 2- 0 to Ismaily of Egypt in the first leg of their round of 32 champions league match.
The team went behind just before the break when Baher El Mohammady’s goal put his team in a lead position.
The Egyptian striker doubled his side’s lead ten minutes into the second half to ensure the Egyptians go into the second leg game with a two-goal cushion.
Cotonsport now has a huge task to score three goals without conceding any in the second leg of the game on December 22/23 in Yaoundé.
On their part, New Stars of Douala pulled a 1-1 draw against Libya’s Al Ahly Tripoli in the round of 32 CAF Confederation Cup game played in Tunisia due to security reasons.
New Stars forward Junior Figo Ngongang scoring a vital away goal for the Cameroonian side before the return leg scheduled for December 23 in Limbe.
It was a fifth goal for Ngongang Figo in three Caf Confederation Cup matches for the lethal striker after netting four against Burundian side Vitalo last month.
