The role of the National Commission for the promotion of Bilingualism and Multi-Culturalism in mediating conflicts in Cameroon, has been detailed out to members of the German parliament on a working visit to the country.
This was during an audience granted the ten man delegation who expressed concern over the socio political crisis in the country by the chairman of the commission peter Mafanyi Musonge.
The ten man delegation comprised of some members of the German parliament as well as some German diplomats in Cameroon.
The meeting centered on Germany’s model with regards to the promotion of multi-lingualism and multi-culturalism, the defence of fundamental values like democracy, human dignity and gender equality.
During the audience with the President of the Bilingualism and Multiculturalism Commission Peter Mafanyi Musonge, the delegation was given the opportunity to grasp the commission’s role on mediating conflicts in the country with particular attention to the unrest in the North West and South West Regions of the country.
During the meeting, members of the parliament noted that they are interested in the situation of peace and security in Cameroon.
Appreciating the interest of the Federal Republic of Germany in the country’s peace and stability, Peter Mafanyi Musonge indicated precisions on their terms and conditions of governing mediation.
