The indomitable lionesses of Cameroon qualified for the 2019 world cup to take place in France, after they humbled Mali 4-2 in their third place encounter of the African Women’s Cup of Nation.
Even though the Cameroon squad failed to reach the final, after succumbing to Nigeria’s superiority in penalty shootout on Tuesday, they will at least leave the competition in Ghana with something to console themselves with, and that is their ticket to the 2019 Women’s world cup in France.
The final of the female AFCON, comes up on Saturday the 1st of December 2018, between South Africa and Nigeria at 5:00 pm.
South Africa are in quest of their first ever AWCON title, which has over the past years been dominated by Nigeria (8 titles), who are the only winners of the competition alongside Equatorial Guinea (2 titles).
