Three of the Tunisian workers who were kidnapped on 15 March by terrorists while working on the Kumba-Isangele stretch of road, have been saved after an operation led by Cameroon’s armed forces.
The Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakari revealed the information in a communique signed on Tuesday 20 March 2018.
The three workers of the Tunisian company SOROUBAT, include; one Tunisian engineer and two Cameroonian technicians.
One other Tunisian, Khaled Tinsa, could not make it alive as he was murdered by the terrorists.
After the abduction took place, the kidnappers threatened to kill everyone they had captured, if a ransom was not paid in 24 hours.
Four of the terrorists were overpowered by the armed forces and Communication’s minister firmly assures the public that, investigations are underway to fish out other members of the criminal group.
As the security forces are being congratulated by the Head of State for their bravery, condolences have equally been extended to the berieved family for their loss.
