Minister Issa Chiroma Bakary, in a communiqué recently published in Cameroon Tribune instructs the Activist John Mbah Akuroh to resume with work at the Ministry of Communication.
The communiqué published in one of the editions of the National Daily, Cameroun Tribune reads, “The Minister of Communication invites John Mbah Akuroh Senior Journalist with Registration Number 56733-R, journalist at the CRTV, put at the disposition of the Ministry of Communication since January 15, 20188 by decision N° 00043/CRTV/DG/DRHS/DEAP/SP/GSN, to present himself without delay at the Ministry… by failing to do so, the concerned will be put in position of unjustified absence”.
In effect, before joining the struggle for the independence of the fictive state of Ambazonia, the trained diplomat and graduate of the Advanced School of Mass and Communication, had been recruited as Journalist by the State Broadcaster, CRTV and later on transferred to the Ministry of Communication where he never took office.
Responding to the message in a short interview granted Cameroon News Today-CNT, John Mbah Akuroh, seems not to be preoccupied by the ministerial move. “It’s a normal procedure engaged by the government, before they radiate someone from the public service, what else do you want me to say”.
The critical journalist who today stands as a leading media figure in the fight for the restoration of the fictive state of Ambazonia has gathered close to 4000 subscribers on his already 742,827 video views YouTube channel, created in 2015.
In one of his latest 6287 views YouTube video published on March 29, 2018, the Journalist expresses his joy as Southern Cameroon was allowed to join the organization of unrepresented nations and peoples last March 28, 2018, “ I welcome this move and I’ll expatiate on that in another video…”
“Some people like me have decided to die for the struggle” John Mbah Akuroh
In 2015, John Mbah Akuroh while working for the State television, the Cameroon Radio and Television was among the two Africans who won the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) 2015 Global Health Reporting contest, thereby making Cameroon proud.
Just like Tapang Ivo, another lead figure and activist for the Southern Cameroons case, John Mbah Akuroh is a trained diplomat who graduated from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC).
