A road safety campaign to ensure accident free roads in the Adamaoua Region during the festive period has been launched in Ngaoundere, by the regional delegation for transport.
The end of year campaign spear headed by the Adamaoua regional delegate for transport enabled him and his team to refresh the minds of road users on best practices that can limit accidents on the highway.
The sensitization campaign is timely as it comes at an end of year period when many people move from one area to the other to celebrate the feasts with their loved ones.
To ensure an accident free festive period in the region, the delegate and his team visited some travel agencies, checking the state of vehicles and necessary documents at each stop.
The sensitization team emphasized on the fact that drivers should avoid taking alcohol while driving; and alert the delegation if they notice any poorly station truck along the highway.
The drivers were equally advised to respect speed limits, make sure they possess the required licences and be more responsible in their duties.
During the launch of the road safety campaign, the officials also visited the structure in charge of delivering Cemac plate numbers and another specialised in checking vehicles in the region.
