The dozens of teachers arrested as a result of the strike action which they staged some days back, have been released on Saturday 3 March.

Five days behind bars, which follow their arrest on 27 March by forces of law and order, came about due to the fact that they had organised a protest which authorities considered to be against the norms of the State.

On the day of their arrest, the spokesperson of the striking teachers, Samuel Ekoto, disclosed that, the arrests were carried out due to issues about the authorisation to protest.

The teachers were demanding unpaid salaries after promises made to them since the strike action of 29 March 2017.

The group of teachers striking this time around, are equally against the actions of their leaders whom according to them, instead of fighting for the solutions to their problems, tend to be dictators and act as spokespersons for the government.
