Coton Sport have sidelined their coach Mincreo Birwi for good, after a loss at home against new comers AS Fortuna.

Vincent Aboubakar’s former team played against AS Fortuna on Sunday 25 February for the fourth playing day of the 2018 MTN Elite one championship. The game ended with Coton being beaten 0-1.

These results gave the club’s administration every reason to dismiss the squad’s boss and coupled with the poor performances recorded by Coton from last year in the Cameroon cup, CAF champions league and Mtn Elite one championship.

Out of the four matches already played this season, Coton Sport have had one win, two draws and a defeat. Presently, they are on the 10th position of the classification table with 5 points.

The information about the sacking, was officially revealed on Monday 26 February 2018, by the club president, Fernand Sadou. He said the intention to put coach Mincreo aside was already there, and the moment had come for the decision to be taken.

Oussoumanou Christophe the coach of the U20 lionesses has been appointed as interim coach.
