The governor of the North West region Adolf Lele L’Afrique signed a decision this February 18, ordering a new curfew in the entire region.

Its decision N° 052/RO/E/GNWR/SG/PAOD which puts into force the restriction of movement of persons and property from 8PM till 6AM within the North West region for a period of one week renewable.

This decision comes exactly a week after activities making the national youth day were observed all over the national territory last February 11, 2018.

According to the decision, “movements of vehicles, persons and goods shall be strictly forbidden, all off licenses, snack bars and night clubs shall remain closed”.

However, the restriction those not involve administrative authorities, forces of law and order and vehicles in possession of special authorization.

The Governor however warns that” any person(s) who violate or attempt to violate this order shall be prosecuted according to the laws and regulations in force”.

Cameroon News Today-CNT however notes that this is not the first time the governor of the region imposes such curfew following the socio-political tensions ongoing in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon.
