[:fr]Ernest Nkwandze has been installed as the interim Divisional Officer of Batibo.

The event took place on 14 February, presided over by the Governor of the Northwest Region, Adolphe Lele Lafrique.

Nkwandze assumes the functions of the missing Batibo DO, Namata Marcel Diteng, who was abducted by unidentified men on Sunday 11 February 2018.

The Governor used the occasion to meet the family of the kidnapped “I went to Batibo to see how the situation looks like, this visit permitted me to comfort the family of the missing Divisional Officer” Lele Lafrique explained.

He also revealed that he had meetings with traditional heads and the forces of law and order in Batibo.

“The traditional rulers as well as the population ought to work in collaboration with the armed forces, giving them necessary information, especially at this moment that we are in search of their DO” the Governor said.
