[:fr]The call was made recently in Batibo by the Governor of the North West Region Adolphe Leleafrique while visiting the town to have a first hand knowledge on the unfortunate incident.

Also, he exalted all vital forces in Batibo to collaborate and work with the administration and the forces of law and order to find the Divisional Officer of the Subdivision who was kidnapped on February 11.

“The local population under their traditional ruler with collaboration with all the stakeholders including the political figures to rally behind the Head of State’s governed and administrative authorities to find the whereabouts of the DO. Ally with the security forces to fight against the common enemy”. This was the only thing Governor Adolphe Leleafrique could tell his entourage and the authorities of Batibo present during a walking visit recently in Batibo.

The Governor brought words of comfort to the DO’s Family and to assure them that all is been done to find kidnapped DO Namata Diteng. The Governor later headed to the Batibo ceremonial ground where the DO was kidnapped on February 11 by unidentified gunmen.

Some traces of the act were still visible. Eye witnesses like the Batibo Subdivional Delegate of Sports and Physical Education and the abducted DO’s driver recounted to the Governor how the incident unfolded: “They just said Oh my God, that’s when I saw people with guns up, with bikes. They shot many times and I was confused”.

Everyone in Batibo is bent on contributing a quota in order for their DO to be found. The traditional rulers of Batibo Subdivision like Fon Tembo II of Batibo and Fon Mbah Nyamssi III of Ngussang have assured that they are leaving nothing to chance. “If the DO is still on our land is easy for us to do something traditionally. We will get our forces together, we can get to do something traditional ativities like our fore fathers used to do”, Traditional authorities pledged.

As Cameroon News Today-CNT learnt, the SDF Member of Parliament for Batibo Hon. Joseph Mbah Ndam underscored the need for tact in handling the matter. “It’s a very bad omen. I am just hoping that the forces of law and order will be tactful in looking for him so that they should not do something that will cause the person who has been held for ransom to be killed”, he cautioned.

It is hoped that with optimum collaboration, the DO will be found.
