Harriet Baldwin who arrived in Cameroon last February 13 was received in audience by the Minister in Charge of Relations with the Commonwealth Joseph Dion Ngute. During the audience, the foreign envoy reiterated the importance of maintaining cooperation between Cameroon and the UK and revealed that despite the fact that the UK was to soon leave the European Union, economic cooperation between Cameroon and the UK will not jeopardized.

While meeting Philemon Yang, Prime Minister and Head of Government in an audience this February 13, Harriet Baldwin used the opportunity to hand an invitation for Chantal Biya, first lady of Cameroon in view of the upcoming conference on wild life crimes due to take place in October this year.

During her brief stay in Cameroon, Hon. Harriett Baldwin appointed on 9 January 2018, as Minister of State for Africa at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Minister of State at the Department for International Development used the opportunity to meet with leaders of the civil society in Cameroon.

In this regard, she headed this February 14, to Buea, South West region of Cameroon where she engaged in discussions with Felix Abgor Bala, former figure of the anglophone movement. Obviously, their discussion centered on the present state at which stands the anglophone crisis which has been ongoing for about two years now.

It’s worth noting that before her visit to Cameroon, she was in Ivory Coast were she met with officials from that country.
