The cost of communal stamps has been reduced from 600 to 500 FCFA by the Minister of Finance.

Information about this reduction was contained in a communiqué signed by the Minister of Finance Alamine Ousmane Mey last January 22, 2018.

The public was informed in the release that these stamps would be available in all council areas in Cameroon.

Some of the reasons advanced for the reduction were, to lighten the burden on tax payers who equally have other national duties to respond to.

According to the officials in charge of the stamps, the emergency plan of 2035 would easily be attained, as a leap is expected in sales.

Another reason is for the convenience of the sellers as well as the buyers particularly when it comes to getting change.

This time around, with 1000 FCFA, one would easily get a communal stamp without any difficulties in having their change.
